Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Tokoyo Musubi Shrine mobile application ("the App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the App, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. About the App
Tokoyo Musubi Shrine is an application designed to support prayer and worship in a modern context.
The App provides features such as:
- Gesture-based interactions using the device camera
- In-app resource management related to worship flow
3. License and Use
3.1 License
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
3.2 Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Remove proprietary notices
- Use the App for unlawful purposes
- Attempt unauthorized access
- Interfere with the operation of the App
- Use automated systems to access the App
4. Camera Usage
The App may use your device camera to support gesture-based interactions.
- Camera usage is optional
- All processing is performed locally on your device
- No camera images or facial data are stored or transmitted
Camera permissions can be managed through your device settings.
5. Visual Content
Some visual content in the App may be created or assisted using generative technologies for presentation purposes.
6. AI-Generated Content
6.1 Readings and Conversations with the Girl
The App uses Google Gemini for readings and the OpenAI API for conversations with the girl. Messages are used to generate and adjust responses to fit the flow of the conversation.
6.2 Disclaimer
- AI-generated content is provided for reference purposes only
- The accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of readings is not guaranteed
- You should not rely on readings when making important life decisions
- Tokoyo Musubi Shrine is not responsible for any actions taken based on AI-generated content
6.3 User Responsibilities
- Users must comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Users should not input content that promotes violence, illegal activities, self-harm, or harm to others
- Inappropriate input may result in generic responses or service restrictions
- Prayers, wishes, and messages to the girl are used to generate readings and responses. Please do not include information that could identify you or another person, such as a name, address, or contact details.
6.4 Data Handling
The App sends the necessary words of wishes and omikuji, reading results, messages, and conversation context to the respective AI services. Please see the Privacy Policy for details about storage and deletion.
7. Subscription Service (Monthly Musubi / 月結び)
7.1 Service Overview
Tokoyo Musubi Shrine offers an optional monthly subscription service called "Monthly Musubi" (月結び).
- Price: Auto-renewing monthly. Prices vary by country or region. Please check the price displayed by your store before purchasing.
- Monthly Musubi 20 (月結び20): 20 Go-enn Coins granted upon initial purchase and each monthly renewal
- Go-enn Coin validity: 2 months from grant date (subscription-granted coins only)
- Negikoto and the Sanpai Notebook: Everyone can write one "Today’s Negikoto" and view past entries in the notebook. Monthly Musubi members can write longer Negikoto.
- Member-only notebook features: Monthly Musubi members can copy an individual past entry into "Today’s Negikoto" and copy all text from the notebook’s past entries at once.
7.2 Go-enn Coin (五縁玉)
Go-enn Coins can be offered during shrine visits to receive Omikuji Tokens. A standard omikuji draw uses an Omikuji Token first; if none is available, one Go-enn Coin may be used instead.
- Go-enn Coin cannot be exchanged for cash or refunded
- Go-enn Coin cannot be transferred to other users
- Consumption order: Coins closest to expiration are consumed first
- Expired Go-enn Coin will be automatically removed
7.3 Cancellation
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) settings
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- Subscription-granted Go-enn Coin can still be used until their expiration date
7.4 Refunds
Please request refunds in accordance with the refund policies of the App Store or Google Play. If a refund changes your subscription status, access to membership benefits may end.
7.5 Data Storage and Restoration
- Subscription status: Managed by RevenueCat and can be restored after reinstalling the app using the "Restore membership benefits" feature within the app
- Go-enn Coin balance: Stored on our servers and linked to your anonymous app account. You may be unable to carry over your Go-enn Coins after reinstalling the app, changing devices, or similar changes. Restoring your subscription does not guarantee restoration of your coin balance.
- Negikoto and the Sanpai Notebook:
Negikoto, past entries, stamp positions, and other notebook information are stored on your device and do not sync to other devices. After your membership ends, you can still view the content remaining on your device and use your existing Negikoto.
The notebook stores up to 100 past entries. When this limit is exceeded, the oldest entries are deleted first. "Restore membership benefits" does not restore notebook contents. Restoration of notebook contents after deleting or reinstalling the app or changing devices is not guaranteed.
- After account deletion: Deleted data cannot be restored. For details, please see Account and Data Deletion.
7.6 Platform Transfer Limitations
- Subscriptions cannot be transferred between iOS and Android platforms
- The app does not provide a feature for transferring Go-enn Coin balances between platforms or devices. See Section 7.5 for reinstallation and device-change limitations.
- To continue subscription on a different platform, you must subscribe again on that platform
8. Offering Purses (奉納賽銭)
Offering purses are consumable in-app purchases. Each purchase provides one purse for a single offering experience, in which the purse is offered at the Haiden (worship hall) in the App. A Monthly Musubi subscription is not required.
- The Go-enn Coins inside a purse are used only for offering that purse. They are not added to the shared Go-enn Coin balance and cannot be used for other purposes, such as omikuji.
- Purchased purses do not expire. A purse remains available until it is offered at the Haiden. While you hold an unused purse, the four offering purse products cannot be purchased again.
- After the visit, Omikuji Tokens are granted depending on the product. Combined with tokens granted for regular coin offerings, up to 5 Omikuji Tokens can be granted per shrine visit. Tokens beyond the holding limit of 999 cannot be received. Please check the App for the validity period of Omikuji Tokens.
- Purses that have not been offered at the Haiden cannot be carried over after changing devices or deleting your account. "Restore membership benefits" does not restore purses.
- Prices are shown on the purchase screen. Please request refunds in accordance with the refund policies of the App Store or Google Play.
9. Intellectual Property
All content and software within the App are owned by or licensed to the developer and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
10. User Content
The App does not provide a feature for making the content you enter public or sharing it with other users. Prayers, wishes, and conversations with the girl are handled as described in Section 6 and the Privacy Policy.
11. Privacy
Use of the App is governed by the Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how information is handled.
12. Disclaimers
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. No warranties are made regarding availability, accuracy, or reliability.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tokoyo Musubi Shrine shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the App.
14. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. You may also request deletion of your account and associated data as described in Account and Data Deletion.
Tokoyo Musubi Shrine reserves the right to discontinue or suspend the App at any time.
15. Changes to Terms
These Terms may be updated periodically. Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
